I have found that the mesh between the lid and base clogs easily after shaking a drink even a little foamy. Removing the cap will leave liquid on top of the filter, which will spurt out when the cap is removed. If you remove the strainer, the lid will not close and will leak when shaken. If you touch the base on the counter and wait 5 minutes before removing the lid, everything works fine. It seeped onto my arm and resisted enough to stop using it.
