Good price for its time

I bought this model in January 2009. All in all I'm very happy with it and for the time it was a good price. The picture quality is excellent. Unlike other browsers, I've never had any problems playing DVDs or Blu-rays. I never updated its firmware. Its cons are: 1) Everything about it is slow: loading movies, responding to the remote (especially fast forward, god it's slow), shutting down. Newer models should be faster. 2) The STOP button is dangerous. If you accidentally press it, the entire disk will have to be reloaded from scratch and your position will be lost. (A few minutes goes by!) 3) It rarely remembers your position when you stop the movie, turn off the device and turn it on again. I do not understand what is going on. In a few films out of many hundreds, he remembers his position. 4) The infrared control of the remote control is very weak: you have to point it directly at the box. I keep wasting a lot of clicks that don't get registered. (This isn't a problem with batteries.) 5) The remote control is more cumbersome to use than most (IMHO - this is personal opinion). 6) The sound disappeared once. (I found that the Blu-Ray was the culprit, not the disc.) After a power cycle, it returned and hasn't gone away since. I'm avoiding Samsung for my next model out of principle, but I bet those flaws have been ironed out.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some small things
