So I have a project that requires a lot of hex nuts and washers. In urgent need of gear, I went to a large chain hardware store, did a bit of searching to find what I needed, then patiently counted off 100 at a time, leaving the box of hex nuts empty at the same time as I organized my inventory , since there were so many different sized nuts and washers in the big 1/4 inch box. It was so hot and stuffy, and there was no room to stash a flimsy grocery bag and lay out gear. At the checkout, the cashier went through everything and still found several pieces of the wrong size in each package - he didn't think. about reading glasses for this purchase as there was a tiny number on each nut and washer to distinguish them. It took a while and everyone in line after me was growing impatient. Eventually I went with less than 100 of each and inconsistent quantities and I was surprised at the cost and I wasted almost 30 minutes. I needed 200 more and before looking for another hardware store in the area I decided to check out Revain, which I probably should have done first. So 5 minutes later I bought the same product at half price and it was delivered in less than 2 days in a handy strong foil box divided into 100 pieces. They also sent me a poem! Goodbye hardware stores after returning my original purchase.
