Nice thick socks as everyone says but be careful they are very slippery indoors on hard floors. My toddlers have slipped and fallen in it a few times around the house and now I try to undress them when we're inside. They are so thick that they have to be worn with slightly larger shoes. They don't go well with shoes that are otherwise tight.
