I bought 2 sets (red and green) for 2 different PS4 controllers. I've never disassembled a PS4 controller before, so I watched a few YouTube videos for the recommended procedure. For the first controller I used a sharp pocket knife and CAREFULLY separated the 2 outsides of the controller by inserting the knife and bending it slightly. After a little effort, it came apart fairly easily. Overall, I was able to quickly get to the right sections to swap out these parts by following YouTube's instructions. After the first build I had an issue with the R1 button and right stick. They activated randomly and caused all sorts of problems with my games. So I took it apart again. this time they parted much more easily. After taking it apart 3 times and making sure all the rubber buttons were installed properly, the controller worked great. I must have misplaced one or more of the internal grommets the first and second time. Note. I would recommend doing this on a white paper towel to catch any loose bits. I also had to attach the L2 and R2 buttons as they popped out during disassembly. Be careful not to lose the small springs attached to the R1 and R2 buttons and the short rubber rod for the reset button. These are the parts that are the easiest to lose. I also took this opportunity to inject some compressed air into the spot where the sticks click into place. I also used 91% alcohol and cotton swabs to clean the gaps around the controller. so it looks almost like new. For my second controller as I am now a "pro" at PS4 controller disassembly. It took me less than 15 minutes to complete it. after testing in several games everything works fine. I would highly recommend them as they look and feel fantastic. In addition, the aluminum does not wear out like the original rubberized sticks. Enjoy!
