I wanted this dock because I found it to be the only dock that would allow an MBP to be attached to a desktop. I don't want to take my MBP with me every time I leave my desktop. I have had a Landing Zone Dock at work and one at home for my 2014 MBP for the past 2 years. As a result, I had the same settings at both locations and was able to work comfortably from home 2 days a week. I wanted the same experience with my new MBP and I got it. Other reviews talk about how you should align it to close. Get over it. It's not that important. This docking station is way better than any other on the market. Of course it's plastic. However, this is metal where it matters. It looks good and works well. I will buy another one for home.
