Excellent on all levels. It is best to use distilled water.

After ordering another ultrasonic humidifier that didn't work right away, I was wary of ultrasonic devices, but this one had good reviews, so I ordered it. In short . After being filled with water as instructed, it would emit a fine mist of moisture for a few seconds that looked like steam and was cool to the touch. Works perfectly! There are two main types of humidifiers. those that use warm steam (the device heats water, which then forms steam) and those that use ultrasonic waves (high-frequency vibrations that form finely divided steam). Ultrasonic machines are more energy efficient, quieter, produce little to no bubbling noise, and use no heat, so the risk of burns is low compared to the superheated steam method, which uses a water heater. With such a fine vapor mist, any impurities in the water (minerals, calcium, copper, lead, etc.) are carried through the air as tiny droplets that can be inhaled. No harmful effects from inhaling mineral particles etc. have been demonstrated, but little if any medical research has been done on the long-term effects of inhaling such vapors. Many people say that this can be dangerous, but they cannot confirm this, since ultrasonic humidifiers appeared not so long ago. what is known. After a while, you may find a fine white powder on your furniture or coverings near this unit. That is, the settling of evaporated mineral deposits. To eliminate any risk or coverage I would suggest using distilled water instead of tap water. This is especially true in areas with hard tap water or areas where water leaves limescale in the shower. The downside is that this device has a large tank. it says 5 liters. It can cost you several gallons of distilled water every week. Maybe $10 a week if you don't have a water filter. That was my biggest area of research. How does ultrasound technology work and how safe is it? Although I plan to use distilled water, I think the benefits of ultrasonic technology outweigh the risks. In addition, the instructions are frankly scary. They read like a series of warnings. This means that the device must be emptied and cleaned after each use. Like every day?! I think the manufacturer is being overly cautious as dirty humidifiers can cause breathing problems and/or mold. Most recommend brushing every third day. I don't like that there is no humidity meter to measure the level in the room. 30-50% on average. How do you know if this is creating too much humidity in the room? This is quite an attractive and modern device, although it's large enough not to completely disappear into the environment. You must position it away from your TV/DVD player. something magnetic etc as instructed as ultrasonic technology doesn't always work well with these things. I love that it has a retractable water tank with a handle that makes it easy to fill and empty. The plug chord is also quite long since short chords are a problem on many devices. Basically I am satisfied with this device. I love the thin, cool vapor it produces. I don't like the possible health side effects of using tap water with ultrasonic moisture. but luckily, distilled water is easy to find at my local store. I'm glad I ordered this and it works great for me right away. It covers a large area and the tank is quite large and easy to use. The instructions read a little strangely, as if translated into English from another language, but the packaging says it's made in the USA!
