When I opened the box the pillow was vacuum sealed but as soon as I cut the bag open it immediately bulged and I was surprised at how hard and strong it is, yet soft. A friend of mine who had foot surgery recommended this pillow for my own foot surgery. One of the reasons for 4 stars is that lying down with my foot alone wasn't comfortable enough as it was raised to support my knee. It was uncomfortable for me and the huge boot I had to wear until I put a pillow on the instep pad to support my knee. After that it was perfect. It helped me a lot to relieve the stress and swelling after the surgery. And since I had to sleep on my back as there was no way to put my boot on my side I really thought it was going to be a long 3 weeks (I sleep on my side/on my stomach). But the weeks flew by and I probably slept better than I had in a long time. Since I no longer need it for my leg, I use it as a pillow to sleep on at night. on the side and my stomach feels quite comfortable with it. I used to use 3-4 pillows to get up, but always fell off or lost the pillow on the floor. Now I only use a lifting bag and sleep much more comfortably. And it's much more convenient to use when I have to sit down for some reason too. Another small minus, but not crucial, is that it is not easy to carry it up / down the stairs. I would like a pen or bag with a handle to carry up/down the stairs.
