Review on 💦 Rubbermaid 7E59RDCHILI MixerMate Pitchers: 3 QT, Random Colors - Stay Hydrated in Style! by Ryan Foles

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Reliable product with some improvements that Rubbermaid doesn't explain = good recommendation

You're probably looking for a jug that will serve all purposes: not too big, fits in the fridge door, lasts indefinitely and most importantly, does not lick. Of course, all jugs will leak if they don't close like a jar - all you have to do is shake them or tilt them too hard. Well the Rubbermaid 3QT Mixermate is a really good pitcher. After finally figuring out what was wrong with it and finding a simple fix. It doesn't drip at all when the seal is fitted correctly. Having to find out for myself cost Rubbermaid a star, although it's still a very good product. The jug was dripping profusely from the seam where you screw the lid on and I couldn't figure out why. I tightened the damn thing as tight as I dared without tearing or breaking it and the water was still running over the counter and floor as I dumped it. Note: The top spout was never aligned with the spout direction. That said, when I unscrewed the lid, the spout went too far past the center line, and I had to pour some sideways into the jug. The anomaly made no sense - I have tons of Rubbermaid products and they are all excellent. The answer came from empirical experimentation: the rubber gasket that fits the lid is designed to only fit properly one way. Stupid design. I stumbled across the solution by pulling this thing out and when I looked at it I noticed a slight shift in the second photo - look closely and you'll see it stretches upwards a bit . This upward offset must be inserted into the cap groove as the cap will turn in Fig. 1. If you get it wrong the spout will go too far and the jug will drip. Just pull out the gasket and put it the other way around. If this is correct, the spout is at top dead center - the lid is screwed on in fig.1. 3 and it's perfectly aligned. I dig this jar. Holds well, pours well. No drops. You can't go wrong if you do everything right. Notice to Rubbermaid. Change the upholstery so that it doesn't stand out, or at least explain it.
