Review on πŸš— Step2 Whisper Ride Push Blue: The Ultimate Ride-On Toy for Toddlers! by Jacob Brooks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic but the cup holder needs improvement and we had to put the blinds in place

We bought this for our 13 month old on the advice of another parent and boys they were right. (UPDATE: We are now using it on the same kid aged 3.5 and only had to remove the handlebars to give him more leg room, otherwise it still works! My son is tall for his age too). I would take her advice and not wait for the 18 month mark as our little one is obsessed with this car. The seating area is narrower than the race car shopping carts at our local stores, so it's probably for the smaller boys anyway. My husband put it together in ten minutes and I didn't hear a grumble, so that's always a good sign. The coaster is suitable for bottled beer, but the holder wobbles, so that when descending or through high grass, the beer tilts forward due to the momentum of the wobbling and thus sloshes forward, so it is not really functional for an open bottle. Beer cans fit normal (cousies do not). The cup holder fits my iPhone as well as some keys and other small items if I line it with a paper towel first (there are holes cut in the bottom of the holder). It also holds a small bottle of water (with a cap) well (like a 16.9 oz slim Dasani bottle). The lack of shade is pretty terrible as trying to get our little fella to wear a hat can be a struggle. So I ordered about 5 different sized umbrellas from Revain and we ended up with a Sport Brella Versa Brella in red and when the red broke we ordered blue. Both looked great and went well with the color of the car. Versa Brella can be tilted to different angles thanks to the articulated shaft. We attached it to the very end of the handle (which is closest to our body/hands when squeezed) and it doesn't interfere with the cup holder much. The clip fits snugly around the thick plastic of the Whisper Ride. The Versa Brella rotates very easily, so when we rotate in the hood I just rotate the longer edge of the visor towards the sun and we get about 3 inches more protection for the little guy. I just wish this umbrella had vents as on a windy day (gusts 15 mph) it will twitch and bend. All in all, it's a must-have umbrella in the Florida sun! The trunk has quite a lot of space, we had crammed in two diapers, a travel pack of tissues, pachis, a change of clothes, a sun hat and a small zip full of snacks and it's still closed. Holders in driver's car but they didn't go well with our snack or spill proof cups so we outfitted them with thick cups lined with thin plastic cups and we use one for the snacks and the other for the non spill proof ones holding mug. overflow cup. "Holds" or sticks to the plastic cup and prevents spills. The wheels don't turn, I just push them. He holds the handle, uses it to lift the front wheels and turns the car in the desired direction. I am 5ft 9" and my husband is 6ft and we have no problem with that. Of course, an inch or two on the handle would be great, but I understand that this product should work for everyone. It was a great addition to our outdoor time. Little dude loves it when we "stop" so he can use sprinkler heads, pick up rocks, touch mailboxes, etc. He even climbs in while parked in our driveway and lets me shovel a bit etc... finished while he nibbles. We've taken this to Disney a couple of times, but a couple of times we've been told "this isn't actually allowed," even though we always go in. It's a lot smaller than some of the giant double strollers people push around, and to be honest it still doesn't go over the size limit listed on the Disney website. It's also not towed like a van (vans are not allowed in Disney parks). *** UPDATE 7/2015 *** My son still loves this car. We had to remove the steering wheel to give it more leg room in the cockpit. Still one of the best purchases we've made to date.
