Great looking case and solid construction. You should know that USB 3.1 Gen 2 is used here, which has a maximum speed of 10 Gbps, which is about 1000 MB / s. You'll pay about three times as much for a Thunderbolt 3 (40Gb/s) enclosure that can get the most out of this drive. I have a Samsung 970 Evo 1TB installed which can read at around 3500MB/s. Of course, I rode with the knowledge that I wasn't expecting full speed. What surprised me is that the case is too hot to touch during use even though it's only running at 1/3 of its possible speed. I know these drives get very hot, but I wasn't expecting that. It comes with two pouches for handling, but that adds a lot of bulk. The big problem is that the case detaches from my Apple MacBook Air and Mini within minutes. I narrowed the issue down to the cable as it no longer turns off when using a Thunderbolt 3 cable. This is very disappointing considering the high price paid for this case and the fact that Anker has a huge range of cables. To be honest I would probably return it and buy a different case with heatsinks, but I no longer have the packaging.
