Let me start by saying that I would like to rate these "speaker stands" with zero stars. Okay, I'll admit I was trying to save money. I knew these shelves would look nondescript at $12 each (and they are). I could live with that. But the thing is, they just don't do their job, which is to keep your speakers reliable and stable. The problem is very simple: the square base is too small and light for the job. It measures just 10 x 7 1/2 inches and weighs next to nothing. When it comes to speaker stands, the base is the most important part. I have two Bose speakers which are very compact yet lightweight. Despite the offset of the stand, these so-called "speaker stands" do not stay upright unless I VERY carefully align the speaker with the 10" diagonal of the base and place it on a hard, perfectly flat surface. But he is extremely unstable; If you touch or touch it, your speaker will fall. And when you have carpet on the floor, these things are REALLY scary. That's ridiculous. I doubt the manufacturer bothered to test them before releasing them. Bottom line: if you value your speakers, don't put them on these flimsy, poorly designed stands.
