I'm only giving this device three stars because it's the second device I've owned. The first time I just accepted that the carafe was leaking for a long time. Somehow the coffee has to seep through between the layers. I like that the coffee comes in a stainless steel carafe and stays warm for a long time. I can't stand coffee on the stove. I ended up buying the same one because I like the stainless steel carafe and #4 filter. I would like 12 cups. After I bought a new block, the carafe started leaking again. I called Hamilton Beach. They sent me another carafe but I had to pay about $5 for shipping as it took over 30 days. The buttons are very easy to use and you can choose how strong your coffee is.
