My rat doesn't like to ride in the car, but we have to do it from time to time. I bought this hoping it would make him feel more secure and I actually buckled him up to protect him. At first he was dissatisfied and pulled some food from the grommets, but after he got used to it he chewed less. I'd say it's pretty impressive that he couldn't just chew his way through such good quality. The bag is also easy to wash. I was afraid that the plastic window would be scratched when washing, but that didn't happen. The window isn't crystal clear but it's plastic so I think it's the best it can be. He usually sleeps in the shade on car rides anyway.
