It sticks! for my opinion
For years we used a soap dish where adhesion was achieved by simply pressing the suction cup to the shower wall. It worked, but every 4 months or so it would fall down, noisily. And we would clean it up and apply it again. And again. This SANNO soap dish is radically different. My impression is that it uses a diaphragm mechanism to create suction, and as you turn the knob, you increase the amount of suction applied to the shower wall. We've now used it for a 6 months, so I can't address how long it wall last, but I'm very impressed with the novel design.

- The soap dish holder is not equipped to hold other bathroom items like razors or toothbrushes
