Review on Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker Emergency Charging by Duke Ballard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Handlebar mount breaks easily

I only use it on pavement and firm beach sand, which is almost as hard as pavement. You can get most of the details from other reviewers - it sounds decent, has good volume, Bluetooth is easy to connect and the battery life is very good. All of this is offset by the simple fact that the mount is made of very brittle plastic and breaks easily. The biggest weak point is the knurled grip around the ball mount. Once I fixed it with super glue and it held for several weeks. Then I bought a two part epoxy that held everything together nicely. But now the hinge is broken. Since it's a loop, you can't glue it together and expect to be able to take it off the bike. Replacement brackets here and in the East Bay are about $15 - there's no way I'm going to spend that much money on a speaker that cost me $25.97 four months ago. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if you need a bike speaker that will last a certain amount of time. Currently I drilled a hole in the hose clamp, inserted a screw through the clamp into the speaker, and then tightened the clamp around the handlebar. Looks bad but doesn't fall off. It also means I can't easily move it from bike to bike.
