My 8 year old was hospitalized with pneumonia in January and is still having a lot of breathing problems. Since we have cats, a dog, a house rabbit, a parrot, a house mouse and four children, we decided to try an air purifier. It was easy to set up: just remove the plastic from it (DON'T FORGET THE PLASTIC ON THE FILTER) and plug it in. It works very quietly. A night light is good to have some light in the house at night. As my name suggests, it is SUPER quiet. I have it running next to the TV in the living room and you don't even realize it's working. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I wish there was a better explanation for the air quality. Blue = very good, green = good, etc., but what are the indicators of very good and good? My entire house (including the damp basement) reads like very good air quality. I find this hard to believe as the house was built in the 1900's (old = possible mold), we have a TON of pets and we have a wood and pellet stove = a TON of dust. My husband turned off the hallway and we were able to change the air quality indicator light when he intentionally smoked the room with the wood stove. So the light changes, but I'd like a better explanation of how many molecules or what it doesn't change. Overall we are happy with this purchase and will be buying another pair to try and help our 8 year old to breathe. around.
