My foot is a size 9, so I usually take a size 9.5 to have a little more room. But for these shoes I ordered size 9 thinking they would be tight but they got too big. No matter how tight I tied my shoelaces, my foot would slip on the heel. After only 30 minutes of wearing, I got blisters on both heels. I think the stitching along the seam helped. Because they were so big I wore a pair of yoga shoes like socks and they fit much better and didn't slip. It was a bit silly wearing two pairs of shoes, but I liked the sturdy sole of these shoes.
