They did a pretty good job with creating a smooth seam across the toes. The seam doesn't dig into the pinky toe etc. The cotton content is very good. The socks are warm AND breathable--no swamp foot from icky, synthetic materials. The colors I got are great too. The elastic around the ankle area is perfect for me. If you had very large ankles tho, it might possibly feel too tight. I like socks that you forget you're wearing because they are so comfortable. These do that. I looked long and hard to find comfortable cotton crew socks that don't break the bank. Very happy with this purchase.
