I wanted the candles to 'glow' during the day but the 'flame' looks really stupid in the daylight. However, at night the flames look great. It's probably my fault too for not paying attention, but I'm disappointed that the whole candle doesn't change color - just the bottom half. I can't find some of the colors on the remote accurately and the smallest candle is out of sync with the others for some reason and tends to do its thing - even when the remote is pressed. But it's probably a defect. If your candle is going to be far away, only use it at night and don't just worry about the bottom changing color - you'll probably like it.
