we have just had a 4.5 11 week old puppy and we needed something to keep her in our common area while we couldn't watch her closely (cooking, room walks etc. ) and it's a good size for that! It's big enough that she can't jump over it (yet), and I don't think wider or smaller will do. We keep it in a square shape and that makes it 4ft by 4ft which is not very clear in the photos. The only thing I wish there was a better mechanism to keep it closed. did we get grounding pins (which we don't use every day) and 4 line clips? and we suspect we should use that to keep the hole closed, but it's quite bulky and they droop. We could look at it completely wrong, and it works well enough just using the one in the middle, but other than that we don't know what we would use.
