I was concerned about getting this at first after seeing some reviews complaining that it didn't work. However, after receiving and using it, I went back to check these reviews and concluded that there was never anything wrong with the product, just stupid people who didn't read the manual. Always read the instructions, it clearly states that you have to click on it to turn it on. The reason for this is that you can use it as a charging station or just as a pretty base to power your controller. The controller emits light while charging, and I've had occasions at night where I turned it off because the pulsing light was too bright. I like the option to turn it off. The only thing I think would improve this would be to make the USB cable detachable and have a small pass-through charging clip so I don't have to remove it if I want to physically connect the PS4 controller to my PC, for example. .
