I have purchased several of these FDP softscape sets over the years and my kids love them. These are home play areas that use a softer fabric that is still dense but not as durable as a commercial set, which is usually made of fabric that is virtually razor blade resistant, much like what is used in playgrounds. This fabric is very durable but extremely expensive, making it quite expensive for general home use. Since I don't let my kids juggle razor blades, we didn't have any issues with the Home version's soft scapes' fabric, which was less durable. I have cats and sometimes I find the injection site where the claw is sticking out, but given the abuse they have to endure and the many benefits children AND cats offer them, they hold up exceptionally well. My softscape sets are a hit at every birthday and holiday party we throw. I ALWAYS have 5+ kids flipping the pieces and rebuilding the castle/fort/whatever. I think it's great to have several of these sets to develop independence, team building and problem solving - kids almost always naturally break up into teams and fight in some way. I watch kids learn how to build sustainable defensive structures to thwart the other team's efforts and use the forms they have to get the best results in their games. These are invaluable lessons for children and I love that these toys allow these concepts to be conveyed in an educational, more entertaining way and that such play encourages independent learning that is often retained faster than prescribed. Education. And while play with these toys can be active and intense, I actually notice less chatter when my kids decide to build or play with Softscapes and are forced to work together. These cylinders are a great starter kit for those new to softscape. , an expansion set for existing Softscape play areas, or a Birthday/Christmas gift for those who haven't joined the Softscape Club yet! As an additional set, see your children using cylinders to plug holes in bridges, as props for large structures to be lifted off the ground, as pillows to relax on their soft base during a movie, or as tables, when they are eating. . . The possibilities of a child's imagination are truly endless. In terms of durability I had no problems. My ONLY even slightly negative feedback is TO CHECK YOUR BOX AND PIECE CAREFULLY when they arrive. I only opened it upon arrival (I saved it for a birthday present) and only then did I realize that my box had been badly mutilated during transport with a rather serious wound on the bottom and one of my cylinder is damaged. Hole in it when I opened the box. To fix this I bought a vinyl repair kit and did my best with it, then wrapped it with plain non-serrated tape. When it starts to come off I just take the tape off, clean the area with Everclear (to avoid repair scars) and reattach the tape. Not a big deal and my kids don't give a damn, but if I had noticed earlier I probably would have contacted Revain for a solution. , more creative, educational, durable toy for the price. We've spent $100-$200 each on dollhouses, car rides, kids' kitchens, inflatable water toys - whatever we got - and yet these soft landscapes are a favorite every time my kids have friends or cousins. brothers are here I can't recommend it to every parent I know. If you have space, set up a play area and watch your kids grow and learn in ways you never expected. Oh, and bonus - all the kids keeping busy means Mom can actually sit and sip a whole cup of coffee. Some days just a quiet cup of coffee makes buying these softscapes the best investment I've ever made!
