This item was as described but it took me a lot of effort to get it to work properly. To the seller's benefit, my calculator was a major factor in the problem I was having. IF you are running a REALLY old TI89 with the original OS you will have the same problems. You must update to the latest operating system before your computer OR TI Connect will recognize your cable. This is not very difficult if you are computer savvy. The hardest part was that the file extension wasn't recognized by the calculator, so I manually "fixed" the file extension to the one the calculator wanted. The new OS was then successfully uploaded to my OLD TI89 and now the cable and software work great! OS would be 5 stars!
