It is BLACK SPRAY COATED wood and smells of paint.
They may be made of wood, but they are PAINTED. I could smell paint on them. The reason I wanted to use real wood was to not stick silicone or chemicals in the ear and I wouldn't trust them to be placed securely in the earlobe. I highly doubt this is a paint that can be applied to the body.
