I bought this bag for a trip to Paris in December. We knew it would be cold and we'd need coats, hats and gloves. Going into museums (which are heated) we didn't want to be stuck carrying all our gear around - hence the purpose of this bag. It went into my pocket going through security, then we opened and stuffed it with two winter coats, two hats, 2 sets of gloves, and 2 scarves. And because it is mesh, museum security had zero issues with us using a "backpack" as they could see what was in it. It even has a smaller pocket that we used for sunglasses.
