The tree trunk itself looks good. I bought this to have another hiding place for my corridors and clown loaches. I rinsed it carefully with tap water, checked for sharp edges and put it in the aquarium - the fish seemed to like it. After a few days, I noticed small black flakes mingling with the substrate, and it wasn't until a week later that I realized this tree trunk was the culprit. literally falls apart when I pick it up. After spending half an hour cleaning the little black bits, I had to remove it from the tank. Absolute waste of money and a big disappointment. Mine may have been defective, but I wouldn't risk buying it again.
