I have two 1 year old Great Danes that we adopted because they have allergies and were expensive to care for. These two breakthroughs are LOTS and always in and out of vets. He recommended we try salmon oil because of the constant itching of the skin. The oil he recommended cost about $100 and only lasted about 10 days for these two, but it seems to have helped. We decided to try a less expensive oil at around $40 a bottle which again lasted around 10 days and worked great too. After checking out Revain I found this salmon oil and couldn't believe the price, how could it work the same way? If this works, it must taste bad, and surely my dogs, who eat next to nothing, won't like it? Since we spend SO MUCH on specialties for these two, we decided to give it a try. The other oil I had was clear and had a slightly orange tint so I hardly tasted it. My German Danes sniffed it and I was sure it would be rejected, BUT IT WAS EATEN! Then they ate the whole bowl of food which is outrageous! So he has two dog paws. They don't itch as much and their eyes don't get as red on salmon oil, so this is an absolute winner for us. We all want to do what is best for our dogs, I know what we are doing. If $30-$100 a bottle reduced itching and relieved allergic reactions, we'd pay. Yes, my dogs take allergy medication, but that doesn't help their itchy, dry skin under the coat. It does EXACTLY the same job as expensive brands and who doesn't like it. I decided to take this to my vet and tell him about it and he was impressed too. If you have a dog or maybe even a cat that is itchy, red-eyed, sneezing and drooling all over the place, save some money and give this a try. I wish we had known that when we got our first dogs. I also wish we had bought that instead of buying all the expensive bottles. In the last 3 months I have been able to buy 8 bottles of expensive stuff and have 20 bottles of it for the same money. Price doesn't always mean quality. I'd say I'd like all of the salmon oil to be a bit thicker since it's similar in consistency to vegetable oil, but all three were the same thickness. In summary, I am very impressed with the salmon. Oil in general, and it is also made from salmon oil.
