KVM overview good for external components
This device worked with both laptop and desktop (as I was hoping). Then I updated the graphics card on the desktop. When the desktop is active, the monitor began to dim. It went black and then came back, then went black again to the point where it was unusable. I investigated this issue and it can be caused by a video splitter when HDMI loses signal. Connecting a desktop directly to a monitor works well, just a little awkward. Since this KVM shares the HDMI signal, this is probably a problem with the KVM. Update: Ordered a better HDMI cable. It ran from the KVM out to the monitor and the blinking stopped. The problem is with the cable, not the KVM.
