I have tried several SD card readers for my iPhone to read field maps from several trail cameras, all with poor results. I had high hopes for BoneView and when I tried it at home it worked great. It consistently fails in the field and only seems to work well with a strong cellular signal or Wi-Fi, neither of which are available for trail camera testing. I went back to using my clunky old card reader instead of the BoneView as the goal was to minimize the amount of gear in the field rather than bring in more gear that doesn't work. It seems those who built this never give up Wi-Fi or cellular. As a hunter or hiker, I would think twice about buying one.
