Put your phone on airplane mode!

Even when you're out with no cell service and just need to look at your photos on your phone, this thing is constantly trying to connect to something using your cell signal. So. Make sure you install the Boneview app BEFORE heading out into the field. Then when you review your photos, put your phone in airplane mode. Problem solved. Then it works great. But what a lame design flaw. Probably the cause of almost all complaints. Once you get the hang of it this thing works great and I use it all…

Limited performance when disconnected from Wi-Fi or cellular.

I have tried several SD card readers for my iPhone to read field maps from several trail cameras, all with poor results. I had high hopes for BoneView and when I tried it at home it worked great. It consistently fails in the field and only seems to work well with a strong cellular signal or Wi-Fi, neither of which are available for trail camera testing. I went back to using my clunky old card reader instead of the BoneView as the goal was to minimize the amount of gear in the field rather than…

It's orange, it works, buy it!

I bought it because it was the only one without some trite made up brand name. I also needed one that could be connected through the case, so a wired version was needed. Once connected, download the app. It took a few minutes to figure out how to transfer files, but once you get the hang of it (select your media device to view your files, then use the "Edit" button in the top right. Select your files and choose how you want to proceed (from the options at the bottom of the screen) it's pretty…

GOOD FOR VIEWING TRAIL CAM PHOTOS

The BoneView card reader is great for viewing SD cards from the trail cam on my iPhone 8+. I didn't quite understand the best way to import photos to iPhone photo storage. It looks like you have to first go through all the photos and tag which photos you want to keep (by number) and then add them one by one. You can also "select all" and keep all the photos and then delete the ones you don't want, but it's a tedious process. I'm still learning, so there might be a better way to go about this…

Useless, disappointing and low quality

Total rubbish. Apparently, judging by other user reviews, it works well with a strong cellular signal, but there are no such signals in the field. It can read SD cards, but only after closing the app, unplugging the device, removing the SD card from the device, and rebooting - multiple times, over and over again. Totally useless in the woods where the REAR CAMERAS ARE. Why does this device require cellular or Wi-Fi, I don't understand, maybe to track my location and data? And if this device and

Great not only for photos but a bit slow

I am very glad I found this! My use of this might be a bit unconventional compared to others. I actually bought this card reader to store large files for an animation project and I needed a lot more space on my iPad to back up my work on a daily basis. I work with large PSD documents in procreate and use them in Photoshop on my desktop. I was pleasantly surprised, Bonview has been very helpful and reliable so far. Pros: You are not limited by the size of OTG flash drives as they can be quite…

May not work on certain iPads

BoneView New Orange is a great device if it works on an Apple device. It worked perfectly on two Apple 6 phones and three Apple iPads (iPad, iPad Air and iPad Air2). Great app BoneView and you can view photos, videos, documents etc on your Apple device without downloading them on the device. I bought an iPad Air 3 that was just released in late March 2019 and BoneView couldn't be recognized unless there was side pressure on the Lightning connector. This also applies to a cable I use to charge…
