Amazing drive but you MUST format it

The drive itself is amazing. It's tiny, light and damn fast, really delivering on the promised 550MB/s. However, if you intend to use this drive for anything other than movies, music, and pictures, you will need to format it before using it. . This is especially true if you intend to use the drive to back up data from your phone or computer. When delivered, the drive is exFAT-formatted and has an allocation size of 1 MB. This means that each file smaller than 1MB takes up 1MB of disk space. 1MB might not sound like a lot on a 250GB 2TB drive, but with the many small files that show up in backups taking up 1,000x more space than usual, it adds up. Check out the attached ones Images for a small text file that takes up 2700 times more space than it actually is and a 177GB backup that takes up an additional 73GB of space. I mention this because it's easy to fix. According to the command line, the sector size on the disk is 512 bytes, which means there is no need for such a large allocation size. All you have to do is format the drive as exFAT and select an allocation size less than 1MB. Microsoft recommends 128 KB, but you can use either 4 KB or 256 KB and still be much more efficient than the 1 MB factory allocation size.
