Okay with a long shirt

I'm 5'7&#34; and 130, I got a size small which fits great but no matter what I do there is a line in the pants across the front. It just wants to fold over. I think if I went up a size they would be too loose and the fold would probably still be there. They are fine as long as I wear a long shirt with them. However, I was hoping to wear shorter tops with them as well. They are very comfy though.
