The brush spins when pushed vertically. I found it best to just clean the sides otherwise the water scraper feature will do the work. It works very well in cleaning dirty wooden floors or walls on most surfaces. Clutter can be reduced by using a fresh water bucket and a squeegee to clean the floor or wall after applying the cleaner and water. The squeegee leaves the floor or wall surface dry to prevent water damage to the surfaces being cleaned. The side rails are brushed, the vertical ones with a rubber scraper, and as its design suggests, it handles even the dirtiest jobs well. works fine thanks
