To use it you must have a 20 amp outlet.

This dryer is very powerful but gets very hot. Reviews about it not plugging into a US outlet are false. It will not fit into a 15 amp outlet that most households have. You should have a 20 amp outlet as shown in the picture. Works very well on my machine.
