Review on 🧳 Eric_Leon 2 Set of Luggage Suitcase Replacement Wheels with ABEC 608zz Bearings: Upgrade Your Travel Gear! by Tim Wheeler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect fit for the Travel Pro Crew 5 - better than the original!

I've been carrying my Travel Pro Crew 5 bag for almost 20 years now and although it's worn out from travel I still love this bag. On a recent trip, one of the wheels collapsed during the first leg - meaning the rubber had detached from the hard plastic core when he was changing planes at a foreign airport. I was able to go back to the good old USA, but I got a lot of stares because of the 'tsok-tsok-tsok' sound the wheel makes, especially when walking on moving walkways. Very annoying. I started looking for spare wheels when traveling and there was a huge range to choose from - most notably caster wheels that could replace luggage wheels. It was actually a little confusing trying to figure out what wheel diameter, bearing, thickness, etc. to use on the Crew 5. As the bag has become obsolete, information on these parts has become somewhat sparse. Based on all the research I could do, I finally settled on this Eric and Leon pairing. The key factors that influenced my choice were the high reviews others had, they came with the Prime and came as a pair of wheels instead of 4, 8 or 16. It only took me 5 minutes to change both wheels. . Fit perfectly and they are very smooth and quiet! This obviously has a lot to do with them being brand new, but I think it also has to do with the design - one bolt to remove the cage, pull out the old wheel, reuse the existing axle and they put the new wheel in the body . , tighten the screw again, done. The only things needed for this setup were new wheels, everything else is now surplus gear for use on another project. The old original wheels don't seem to have installed a real ball bearing in the wheel, but the axle was mounted. two plastic bushings inserted on each side of the wheel. It's actually amazing that they've lasted this long - about a million kilometers travel time. As I said, the problem that made me change wheels wasn't rolling, it was the peeling of the rubber on one of them. I have to say that Travel Pro is a great product! I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a 76mm spare wheel for their luggage. They match the Travel Pro Crew 5 perfectly and I expect this bag to last for many years to come. One more note: I don't know what is meant by the phrase "packaged in a self-designed bag with Eric and Leon's logo" in the advertisement. The wheels came in a plastic bag labeled Eric & Leon but I don't see how that can be considered 'design'. Product description.
