Unless you're a jeweler or have a lot of experience with wire changes and very small electronics, I wouldn't bother. Replacement joysticks, even used ones, are ridiculously expensive, and joystick failures are a common Switch problem, perhaps common enough to be considered a design flaw. So, in theory, it's a good idea to sell these kits just to fix the joystick. at a lower price than a new joycon and also with respect for the environment. And maybe that's an issue with that particular vendor since these kits are sold by multiple vendors. However, this vendor's kit did not work. I tried installing both sticks into the broken controller and neither of them worked. This seller also gave absolutely no instructions on how to do repairs. I watched a YouTube video of a similar but not quite the same kit. I'm going back and get my money back but even with that it was a big mess and a disappointing experience. I should have just bought another joycon - grab it and go.
