Great replacement at a fraction of the cost. All the tools to get the job done are included. Easy and fast. Once you've reached the remote, simply unplug and plug in the fancy joystick and you're good to go. It took about 15-20 minutes per controller and I'm not used to fixing electronic parts. I took a chance because the new controllers are very expensive. They are perfectly calibrated and have survived several months of play with an 8 year old. Works just as well as when new.

The joysticks are great and the Phillips screwdriver is perfect It also comes with extra screws and everything else you need except for one very important detail. The trilobe size is 0.6 but the joycons use size 00. When I tried to use the wrong size trilobe the screws in my joycon broke. Because of this, I had to break the shell and buy a new shell. Everything else in this set is great, but beware of the wrong size screwdrivers.

Great package! Everything you need was there. For those who said it was too hard. Look, the only time I've ever held a screwdriver in my hand was when I gave it to someone else. I found a video on YouTube, and while it doesn't look quite like my joycon, I had an idea. It was easy! I just took my time (about 10 minutes for 1) and voila. Joycons work again! Never used. I've worked with technology most of my life. Cell phones, laptops, computers, whatever. I'm not new to do-it-yourself repairs. So let's be honest. The tools provided are terrible. Namely screwdriver. They are immediately torn off at the first screw. They are not properly machined to fit the screw head in any way. The rest of the kit looks very nice. Of course I want to fix two of my kids joysticks without having to order any other branded screwdriver set.

Unless you're a jeweler or have a lot of experience with wire changes and very small electronics, I wouldn't bother. Replacement joysticks, even used ones, are ridiculously expensive, and joystick failures are a common Switch problem, perhaps common enough to be considered a design flaw. So, in theory, it's a good idea to sell these kits just to fix the joystick. at a lower price than a new joycon and also with respect for the environment. And maybe that's an issue with that particular vendor…
