Review on πŸ”‹ CTEK (56-865) US 0.8 12V Fully Automatic Battery Charger - Black: 6-Step Charging for Optimal Performance by John Ghattamaraju

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I ended up with four CTEKs. I am very happy with my little army charger. To make the best choice, you need to think a little.

I chose four CTEK batteries. Batteries are expensive and after much research I found CTEK to be the way to go for investment protection. Other chargers can damage batteries if left on for too long. Watch Jay Leno's videos explaining this. CTEK (56-353) MULTI US 7002 12v Battery ($117) Of the four CTEKs I own, this is my favorite because it has all the features of the CTEK (56-353) MULTI US 7002 with more power . The fully automatic CTEK 56-864 Mus 4.3 12V ($60) is a good alternative when lower cost is required. (see below) CTEK 56-864 Mus 4.3 12V Full Auto ($60) Of the four CTEKs I own, this is my favorite under $100. "Mode Select" and a couple of LEDs are good and indicate desulfurization and recovery modes. . For $5 less, I prefer the aforementioned CTEK 56-864 Mus 4.3. Fewer LED displays on 56-158 leave a lot of information to be desired compared to other CTEK models. It also doesn't have an LED to indicate "recovery" mode, but the manufacturer's info says it does it automatically. an expensive choice as CTEK for "healthy continuous charge service” but the lack of additional features would lead me to opt for the fully automatic CTEK 56-864 Mus 4.3 12V ($60) or CTEK (56-353) MULTI US 7002. 12 volt battery ($117) if only I had one. CTEK (56-959) MUS 4.3 TEST&CHARGE 12V Fully Automatic Charger and Tester ($87) would be a good choice if you don't have other test equipment, but I'm good with other "test" equipment so I probably never will do take it. Be careful not to handle the alligator clips roughly, as the plastic is brittle and breaks easily. Once the plastic insulator separates, a bare metal clip remains. If you get both one of the high power units and a low power unit, the wires are interchangeable, but the smaller unit has a smaller built-in fuse that can "blow" when used with a higher power unit. .Original text>Very good unit. Very well designed. Very handy for batteries. Avoid cheaper "imitations" under other brand names. This particular model from CTEK doesn't have a "recovery mode" to extend battery life like some of their other models, but it does have a "safe for your battery" mode. "The trickle charge feature is designed to keep stored devices in good working order. Most other chargers can damage batteries if left connected for long periods of time. he moved to CTEK. This is not a high power launcher for a very low battery. Explore the different CTEK models to see which one suits your needs. I work with electrics/electronics and the CTEK design makes technological sense. I bought 4 of their different sized battery models and gave some to my dad's fleet :). He is also very impressed. You'll be glad you're treating yourself and your gear to a quality product.
