Review on 🔒 Hakko FA400-04 Anti-Static Benchtop Absorber - ESD Safe by Bret Wong

I knew I wouldn't be installing an 8" duct system, but I was hoping for a working distance of just over 6". I'm a Hakko fan, all my soldering stations are (3) Hakko and I wouldn't trade them for anything but this is the first product I've been disappointed with. Like I said I knew he couldn't handle 2' but come on Hakko I expect more from your brand. Okay now skin my soap dish save $50 and buy one of the $30 benchtop units and buy Hakko filters if you don't like the Hakko colors. A positive note is the very good workmanship, typical of Hakko, there is very little space at the upright workstation. I didn't get an arrow stand for the unit that would allow you to raise it higher, but I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make. The bottom line for me is that you have two Hakko options: the $80 FA400-04 and a huge upgrade to the Hakko FA430 extractor with C1571 exhaust pipe kit for $700. The Hakko FA430 smoke extractor works great but is noisy. I'm sure you could get it cheaper, but I'm hoping Hakko can come up with one that's mid-priced between these two! In the meantime, I'm adapting my desktop to my work and saving money on the FA430!
