This review will be devoted almost entirely to the ergonomics of the device, which is the main reason I sent it back. I have to add that I've had quite a few carpal tunnel issues, which is why the ergonomics bother me so much. I bought the Tartarus Pro hoping to improve my PC gaming ergonomics. . My intention was to get my left and right hand closer together so your shoulders are better aligned and it's better for your posture etc. The Tartarus Pro does its job admirably in that regard. Problems arise due to the ergonomics at hand level. The biggest problem is the position of the thumb. They expect you to kidnap (pull away from the rest of your hand) your thumb at too great an angle. Not only do you have to stretch your thumb too far, you also have to stretch it down more than it should. Whoever designed this decided that the "spacebar" should be below the rest of the keys. It quickly became uncomfortable and I could feel the movements I was using causing a slight tingling sensation within 30 minutes of use. Another issue for me was the "hump" in the middle which they expect you to put your hand on. I couldn't find a comfortable position no matter which of the three available palm rest options I used (the palm rest is removable and can be adjusted to forward, backward, or fully removed, which also shortens the length of the palm rest and removes padding). The hump also made accessing the top row buttons difficult. I had to awkwardly reach out to reach these buttons. These are the main issues, but apart from that I would like to mention a few things about the product that I feel need improvement. The keycaps are too wide at the top, making individual keys less distinguishable. They also don't have the nice jagged shape typical of keyboard keys. It also seems to me that they missed keys that shouldn't have been there. Each key roughly corresponds to a key on a typical QWERTY keyboard, and by default they correspond to those keys unless you change them via software. The lowest level keys in Tartarus is the Shift line, which is not a problem for most people. However, I'm the type of player who uses Control to crouch. or in some games crouch and lie down depending on how you press it. The best workaround I found was to either place Control where Caps Lock would be, or place Shift where Cap Lock should be and Control where Shift was. I also sometimes use ALT, which is the default key for voice communication in some games. I really wanted to like Tartarus Pro, it seems like a great idea, but there are too many problems with it when for me some of them are significantly smaller than others. If you don't think this is a problem for you, consider the choice. Otherwise, I think you should skip this and either buy a half keyboard (or use a half split keyboard) or buy one of the cheap game half keyboards at Revain (I bought one for $23 and it should arrive in a couple of days, thumbs). press that it doesn't die after months of use), or wait for something like the Cooler Master keyboard for one hand, which should be released sometime this year after sending their backers on KickStarter.
