Review on Chaco Women's Suntrail Hiking Shoes - Girls' Athletic Footwear by Chris Horton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Time for a break from period

It was time to find a pair of comfortable chacos. I tried every size 6 women's style and the arch was too high. The toe-loop style nipped my big toe, which is unusual as I mostly wear other brands' toe-loop sandals. Decided to try the big kids Z1 size 4 and bingo! Lower arch, softer footbed, no toe box and half the price. There was definitely a pause in periods, but now they feel good. I found the Chacos to have a low heel cup and high arch support for a different feel and fit. It took a while to get used to, but with a history of plantar fasciitis I appreciate the built in arch support. I had to hem long adjustment straps to keep them from dragging across the floor. Also, the loop on the heel strap was removed as unnecessary. I put a few drops of argon oil on the insoles of the sandals as they were rough at first. I have to wonder, are sandals worth all the hassle? I hope so. Update: May 13th, 2021, after a few weeks of wearing them I have to say they were definitely worth it! Watch a YouTube video on how to adjust the straps and buy a Z-Harness if you are new to Chacos. I have found that the straps are most comfortable when I can slip my finger under each strap. Even with the loose straps, the fit and support is amazing. These sandals are water washable, dry quickly and look like new. I liked them so much I bought a second pair which immediately felt great. I am a newly converted Chaco!
