Good paper, bad binding!

Binding is not very good and pages do not lay flat unless pressure is applied. But the paper is really nice. Cold white and toothy. Holds pen and pencil very well. The watercolor warped the paper, but after drying it mostly flattened out and I was able to apply multiple coats with no sign of pilling or cracking. Works very well with water based markers like tombows. Alcohol markers like Copics will bleed through as expected, but the other side of the page could probably be smudged or even stained with gouache. Haven't tried it yet but I think the paper will hold up. I would say it's comparable to those smaller Travelogue albums with prettier covers. (And other paper.) Since I tend to hit my sketchbooks anyway, I'm very happy with the purchase. Update a few days later: Tombow markers cause some curling, but that's true for most papers when using water. based markers. I've found that if you do one coat, maybe two, and be careful, the paper is fine. I haven't torn it up yet; just a little peeling and bleeding on the other side. This is not the case with watercolors - I was able to apply multiple coats of paint with ease. Pencils (regular graphite and colored pencil) fit perfectly. Surprisingly I found copics work great with this paper and give a watercolor effect.
