Review on ๐Ÿ“ฑ 3-Pack Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Garmin Fenix 6S, 6S Pro, 6S Sapphire, and 6S Pro Solar - Anti-Scratch (Not Compatible with Fenix 6 or 6X) by Daniel Evans

Will not work with Garmin Venu or a curved glass (face)

I tried this on a Garmin Venu (using the same crystal as the Fenix 6S). The glass is crystal clear and does not interfere with touch functions. It doesn't completely cover the edge of the glass - some people really don't like it, although I can live with that as long as the screen protector lies flat and makes full contact with the glass (more on that below). . Easy to use. However, if your dial has a curvature, it leaves an air gap ring around the outer edge of the glass. This is a problem for two reasons: first, it can (eventually) snag on something and either break or peel off the screen protector; Secondly, dust/dirt/water etc. collects under the glass edge and scratches the dial just as if there were no protective film at all. In the end I decided not to use this protector at all. Since they don't say it works with Venu, I won't try to return it (it was only $8 anyway). Also, the Venu has Gorilla Glass, so it should be fine (just trying to use screen protectors out of habit). Sapphire crystal - this can be curved gorilla glass and flat sapphire crystal. I don't know as I can't go to the store to see them in person at the moment (the COVID-19 lockdown is in the process of being lifted). The Venu uses an AMOLED display and the Fenix 6S uses a MIP display - I'm not sure if this has any impact on whether the crystal is flat or curved. I personally would prefer sapphire glass with a screen protector like this, but it doesn't seem to work well with Gorilla Glass.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • The list will go on.
