I've read that people have had trouble getting fuel into their Audis and after pumps fail they find their filters are restricting and stressing the fuel system. I figured it would be a cheap and easy job for peace of mind with my Audi A4 B7 set to APR Level 1+ with 130,000 miles. When I pulled the old one out I got all sorts of black dirt out. Then I tipped it the other way, and even the path leading to the engine went dark. After installing the new filter, I primed it by turning the key on and off a few times before cranking the crankshaft, and then it worked right away. for inventory calibration. Better yet, I probably won't need to replace the fuel pump or injectors anytime soon.
