This is a fantastic digital level. In fact, I have this length and 48 inches and really appreciate using it. The Tone feature is most useful when you can't see the level. And light is a great feature in the dark. They are very accurate and durable, but yes, you need to take good care of them and even recalibrate them from time to time. It's not hard to do. The bubble is also a confirmation at any time. Performance wise I just used these two units and my Bosch 3 level laser to install kitchen cabinets and they came out PERFECT. Granite installers commented that these were the slimmest cabinets they had ever seen and not a single washer was used. They were in and out in less than an hour. All are happy. I have several Stabila products and love them all. They're expensive, but my clients value high-end results and tools to help them consistently achieve them. Stabila is exactly what you need: high-quality equipment for high-end results. While I agree that not everyone needs those expensive levels to get good results, I can't see myself working effectively without them. Of course, you can't waste all day grinding and wasting time at +/- 0.05 degrees, but once you get the hang of ultra-precise measurements, your results will get better, faster.
