Review on 🔧 Griot's Garage Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner 35oz - Ultimate Solution for Cleaning by Chris Anderson

Before I bought it I used Sonax (230200-755) Wheel Cleaner Full Effect - 16.9 fl. ounce and it works great don't get me wrong. but almost $1 an ounce is a bit pricey. The smell isn't the best either and I don't want to inhale it. I did a lot of research and wanted to buy the AMMO NYC Plum Wheel Cleaner but the shipping cost was crazy. Through research, many people on Reddit and other forums seem to agree that AMMY NYC Plum was renamed Griots simply due to smell and reaction. Here I ordered a gallon and it arrived yesterday. The smell has NOTHING to do with how it works but I really like it so it's always a bonus. I bought a Rubbermaid Professional Plus Heavy Duty sprayer at my local Wally World store because it was $2 cheaper and it's a great sprayer for the purpose. To wash the 4.19 inch wheels on my Audi S4 I spent about 5 ounces judging by the grille on the side. at a usage rate of about 30 full washes of all 4 wheels per 1 gallon jug, that's amazing to me! Most wheel cleaners have a very vague description of use on the back. It's very specific. Spray the wheels with water first, then apply the cleaner or just apply directly to a dry wheel. Most will say that spraying the water first will dilute the cleaner, but Griots actually says it should be done to help get rid of and remove dust and dirt on the surface. I did this first and then sprayed the wheels individually. The bottle also states 3-5 minutes, Sonax - 30-60 seconds. I didn't time it exactly, but I know it's not. full 5 minutes. Since the solution dissolves heavy iron materials, it takes on a reddish-purple color, which is very pleasant. Oh. A bit of a fuss with a couple of wheel brushes and sponges which I use and the wheels came clean very quickly. Proper rinsing and then towel drying and I am very happy with the results. In the photo the clean wheel looks a lot lighter but the time I washed the whole car dried it and went back to the 'clean' photo. the sun has shifted, sorry! Factory silver rims.
