Discharge tube is a 3 pin device and I think it should be a 2 pin device. A 3-terminal device expects the middle terminal to be grounded, and each end provides protection for it. This tube is rated at 90V when connected as such, but in this case the protection is continuous and it is not known if this device was intended to be used in this way. If it could work like that I would expect the breakdown voltage to be double that or 180V - not so good. I would prefer to use a 2-terminal device. Also, I don't know what the washing machine is for and where to put it. I'm assuming it goes between the cap and the GDT. If I can't find a suitable 2 terminal device I'll probably return it.
