At first I thought 'Of course...there's a new iPhone coming out, so now as always I'm going to have problems with my current one,' but no . These are actually cords. When I plug in the cables, they don't work right away. You have to wiggle them around and place them in the right place and then hope that the cable doesn't move and stop charging when you put the phone down. I know my charging port is fine because I took the fast charger that came with my wife's phone and plugged it in and it charged right away and kept charging as long as I held/moved the phone. These cables cannot be used when telephoning. They charge quickly if you can get them to keep charging.
