Aven Digital Microscope Stand

Just what I needed for my Celestron 44302-A digital microscope. This is NOT a jack for your car, but a lightweight, well-designed, z-adjustable rack and pinion stand. There were a few very small issues that are easy to fix: (1) The microscope body holder was not tight on the support bar. This was due to the presence of some burrs from the casting process in the holder body and was corrected with a sharp X-Acto knife and some neat carving and (2) the pinion driveshaft, apparently not quite linear. tends to stick a bit at certain turning angles. I deal with this by gently supporting the carrier as the gear spins (careful! It's not difficult to remove part of the gear). Precise focusing is achieved using the Celestron's focus wheel. I recommend a very light dry lube on the sliding part of the camera mount. An LED light would be nice to see pond mud etc but I use mine to see coins which aren't usually too transparent. I'm excited about this tool.
